Main article: Category:Professions

Professions are side activities in Twin Saga that help boost players' stats. Six different professions are available: Fishing, Gathering, Farming, Cooking, Crafting, and Alchemy. The maximum level of each profession is 70, and different stats and bonuses are gained at each level. The Professions window can be opened using the default hotkey V.

Fishing and Gathering are performed in Meridia, while the other professions are done in the Terracottage.

Fishing[]

Overview[]

FishingExample
Main article: Fishing

Fishing is a profession performed in the Meridian continent. You must equip both a fishing pole and bait to fish. Upon unlocking your Terracottage, you can talk to Alfred to receive an Arcadia Supply Crate, containing a Beginner's Fishing Pole and 1000 Earthworms. (Earthworms are the only type of bait available.)

To begin fishing, equip the fishing pole and bait. Head to the Lv. 1-8 School of Fish near the entrance to Raywing Harbor in Meridia, and double-click the school of fish. You should begin fishing. The school of fish levels are based on your fishing level, and not your character's level. 1000 earthworms will last approximately 5 hours.

Fishing Poles[]

Blue- and green-quality fishing poles can be created by purchasing a formula from Fishing Pole Formula Merchant Cloxars in the Main Hall of the Terracottage. Fishing for a while will eventually cause you to have enough Nautica's X (Silence, Warmth, Myth, etc. depending on the level of the school of fish), which you can use to create a new fishing pole.

Blue-quality fishing poles will increase specific stats, such as "damage" dealt/taken in QTEs, allotted QTE duration, etc, and is most useful when trying to catch rarer fish. Green-quality fishing poles will increase the likelihood of catching a specific type of fish, and is most useful when earning gold by selling to other players, or for Adventurer's Alliance rewards.

Orange-quality and yellow-quality fishing poles are made from materials that drop from orange-quality and yellow-quality fish. These are more difficult to create, but are more powerful than their blue-quality counterparts.

It would be wise to craft a new fishing pole as soon as possible, since anything is better than the beginner's fishing pole.

Quick-Time Events (QTE)[]

FishingQTE

Quick-Time Events, often abbreviated as QTEs, are spontaneously-occurring events that require players to input numbers displayed on-screen. Successful input will inflict "damage" and the fish will be caught when its "health" runs out. There is a time limit of only a few seconds, but this can be increased by equipping certain types of fishing poles.

Gathering[]

Overview[]

Gathering is a profession performed in the Meridian continent, and is similar to Fishing. Gathering encompasses both plant gathering and mining. Both contribute to the gathering level and use the same tools, but different items are obtained.

You must equip a set of gathering tools in order to gather. Upon unlocking your Terracottage, you can talk to Alfred to receive an Arcadia Supply Crate, containing Beginner's Gathering Tools.

Unlike fishing, gathering is limited by the durability of your gathering tools, rather than the availability of bait. After the durability of your tools is depleted, you must visit any merchant NPC in order to repair them.

To begin gathering, equip the gathering tools. Find either the Lv. 1-8 Wild Plants or Lv. 1-8 Minerals in Meridia, and double-click. You should begin gathering. The wild plants/mineral levels you can use are based on your gathering level, not your character's level.

Gathering Tools[]

Blue- and green-quality gathering tools can be created by purchasing a formula from Tool Formula Merchant Merrick in the Main Hall of the Terracottage. Gathering for a while will eventually cause you to have enough Terra's X (Silence, Warmth, Myth, etc. depending on the level of the wild plants/minerals), which you can use to create new gathering tools.

Blue-quality gathering tools will increase specific stats, such as "damage" dealt/taken in QTEs, allotted QTE duration, etc, and is most useful when trying to gather rarer items. Green-quality gathering tools will increase the likelihood of gathering a specific type of product, and is most useful when earning gold by selling to other players, or for Adventurer's Alliance rewards.

Orange-quality and yellow-quality gathering tools are made from materials that drop from orange-quality and yellow-quality plants/minerals. These are more difficult to create, but are more powerful than their blue-quality counterparts.

It is well-advised to craft a new set of gathering tools as soon as possible, since anything is better than the beginner's items.

Quick-Time Events (QTE)[]

Farming[]

Overview[]

Main article: Farming
Farming 1

Farming is a profession performed in the Greenhouse of the Terracottage. Farming requires players to purchase and plant seeds.

After planting the seeds, they will undergo three stages: Budding Phase, Growing Phase, and Mature Phase. Plants can be harvested when the Mature Phase is completed, but gold can be paid to harvest them earlier.

The materials obtained from harvesting these mature products are used to make different types of cloths and fabrics in the Workshop, as part of the Crafting profession.

Mutations[]

Mutations are naturally-arising occurrences that happen when a plant enters a new growth phase. There are three potential mutations, called Warping, Gigantism, and Cornucopia. Greater Warping mutation values reduce the time necessary for the plant to grow. Gigantism mutations result in larger harvests, and Cornucopia mutations increase the chances of producing an extra crop.

Mutation values accumulate the more you cultivate a specific type of plant. These values do not reset, so the more you grow a certain plant, the more efficient it will be.

Crafting[]

Overview[]

Main article: Crafting
Crafting 1

Crafting is a profession performed in the Workshop of the Terracottage. Crafting entails taking materials, usually from other professions and crafting outfits, enchantment cards, and more.

The crafting of enchantment cards and outfits requires products obtained from Farming and Gathering. After crafting is successful and you receive the products, their stat bonuses are randomized.

Obtaining More Recipes[]

Equipment formulas are dropped in dungeons; each dungeon may drop different formulas, depending on the dungeon's level.

Outfit formulas are found in random chests scattered throughout Meridia. Certain outfit formulas are only obtainable in chests found in certain regions.

Alchemy[]

Overview[]

Main article: Alchemy
Alchemy 1

Alchemy is a profession performed in the Workshop of the Terracottage. Alchemy involves the synthesis of potions and the creation of Starstones.

The production of Starstones requires Starstone Shards. Starstone Shards can be obtained from defeating monsters, fishing, and gathering. Lower-level Starstone Shards can also be fused into higher-level ones. When a new Starstone is created, it is unidentified, and must be right-clicked to be identified. It will be assigned randomized stats.

The production of potions requires materials obtained from Farming, as well as a solvent item. The solvent required by a recipe can be purchased from the merchant next to the Alchemist's Workbench.

Cooking[]

Overview[]

Main article: Cooking
Cooking 1

Cooking is a profession performed in the Greenhouse of the Terracottage. Cooking takes fresh ingredients obtained from gathering and fishing, and turns them into delicious meals.

Materials used for Cooking can be obtained from either gathering or fishing. (Contrary to its name, the Farming profession produces materials for crafting/alchemy uses only!) Each recipe also requires a base food item that can be purchased from one of the cooking merchants next to the Kitchen.

When cooking is complete, you will receive an unidentified item. Right-click to identify it, which will award you a blue-quality, orange-quality, or yellow-quality version of the item. The blue-quality version will be the most common.
